Job Description

Residential Support Worker

Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 per annum

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (40h per week, including shifts, sleeps, and weekends)

Are you a dedicated care professional driven by the belief that every person working with children in care is a "superhero"? We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our growing team, supporting young people with various types of needs in a nurturing and safe environment.

This role is about more than supervision; it is about delivering an impassioned and truly caring experience to our young people. You will be part of a collaborative team where you are supported to make the best home possible, ensuring high standards of care and contributing to the long-term well-being of children with complex needs.

Benefits:

  • We work collaboratively, ensuring you are fully supported by experienced teams within the organisation.
  • Join a service that identifies gaps in knowledge and contributes to training and development programmes to help you excel.
  • Because we are well-versed in regulations, your day won't feel like a fight to get the things you need to care for your home and the young people.
  • Join a team that values and respects differences while promoting individual rights and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day running of the children's home, ensuring a nurturing, clean, and safe environment for all residents.
  • Act as a key worker for young people, maintaining accurate files and progressing development plans to ensure high-quality practice.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships between staff, children, and stakeholders to ensure care needs are met effectively.
  • Support the management of clinical practices and medication processes in line with current legislation.
  • Promote the children's involvement and participation in the day-to-day life of the home and maintain appropriate relationships with families.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to engage with children and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A dedication to maintaining high standards of care that underpin the 'Statement of Purpose' for the home.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), experience with SEND or complex behavioural needs, and knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks.

Even if you don't meet every single criteria listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
